Racing is optional but encouraged – that’s what makes this sport so fun! Juniors can use a mountain bike if they don’t have a cyclocross bike. Team members learn the skills unique to cyclocross while being a part of a team that instills positive values, like camaraderie and respect. Inspire Juniors Rec Cyclocross brings kids aged eight (birth year 2015) and older together for an introduction to cyclocross, having fun while building bike handling skills, confidence, and fitness. We are very excited to partner with the Castle Rock Parks and Recreation to expand our MTB programming to Castle Rock! This program will be based on the trails in and around Castle Rock (Phillip S Miller, Ridgeline, Sandstone, Dawsons Butte, Hidden Mesa, and more!) with some bike practices at great locations outside of Castle Rock. *Last 2 weeks reserved for make ups as needed for weather cancellations throughout the season.The remainder of the practices will take place on other local trails (Waterton, Bear Creek Lake Park, Ruby Hill, Castle Rock, etc.). We are excited to bring back the Highlands Ranch program for 2023! As with 2022, about 2/3 of the practices will take place on Highlands Ranch trails (rotating through a few trailhead options). If you want to ride with your friends, be sure they sign up for the same session! Session Fall 1 and Fall 2 will be the same program with opposite locations each week. In the Fall, each program will meet once a week in Ken-Caryl and once a week on other trails in the area (Waterton, Bear Creek Lake Park, Green Mountain, Ruby Hill, Highlands Ranch, etc.). Practices will be in Ken-Caryl about 2/3 of the time and on other local trails about 1/3 of the time (Waterton, Bear Creek Lake Park, Green Mountain, Ruby Hill, Highlands Ranch, etc.). In the Summer, we will offer two different time slot options. Spring 1 and Spring 2 will be the same program with opposite locations each week. Interested in coaching? We still need a few coaches for our programs! You can choose to volunteer (with the fee of one child waived) or be paid. Each junior will receive a free jersey if registration is submitted by January 15 for spring session and March 1 for summer session. Parents are encouraged to sign up to volunteer to ride along so that each group has two adults. 50-75% of the practices will take place in the home base location, with the remaining practices in other locations in the southwest metro area.Īt the beginning of each session, kids are divided into groups of 7 based on age and guided by a coach for each practice.
